Now this is a brand I truly had not heard of, and was actually brought up to us on another video review by a YouTube subscriber. So, first things first, shout out to Bonnermanvideos on YouTube for asking us if we were going to be reviewing this model and for bringing it to our attention.

With that out of the way, Zinvo is brand that is based in Boston, MA with replica watches produced and assembled in Asia while sourcing parts from around the world. All replica watches are shipped from Boston, MA. The Blade is one of 3 models that Zinvo produces, and their most expensive model to date. And that is somewhat of an ironic statement seeing that this replica watch being the most expensive comes in at $199. What makes this replica watch stand out would be the 1-second turbine, as Zinvo calls it. It is a disk that sits above the hands on the dial, and replaces your normal second hand.

For a better look at this, please see my video review here:

Zinvo Blade Watch Review

As I touched on in the video, the Zinvo Blade is certainly unique, but a little impractical, especially to accurately tell time. Zinvo was trying to do something different, and keep it affordable, and I think he did just that. Many replica watches that we enthusiasts buy are with fashion in mind and this Blade is certainly one that can be considered fashion forward, and definitely unique.

The all stainless steel case is very sporty, with its machined grooves and attached lugs. It reminds me of racecars and the mechanics that service them in the pit. That might have been what he was going for with this design. The crown does not screw down, but operates the hands and date just fine.

When speaking of the date, you might be thinking, where? Well, that is what I was talking about with being a little impractical. The replica watch certainly has its cool factor, but the time telling factor was left on the back burner in my opinion. The seconds or “blade” disk covers up the white hour and minute hand and also makes it difficult to see the date. With the way the disc moves as the seconds counter, it is also hard to have any sense of true accuracy, as you can not really know what time it is down to the minute, let alone second.

The exhibition case back shows off the Miyota 8215 automatic movement, and the outer portion of the case back is very sterile, not filled up with tons of info as most case backs have. Zinvo Blade is engraved into the top of the case back, and the rest is high polished, giving off a sophisticated feel. The top or dial crystal is sapphire for sure, but I do not know if the back is sapphire or mineral.

Of course, there is no lume present on this model, and even if there were, it would be most likely pointless, as it would be hard to see through the disc.

Zinvo Blade Watch Review

The supplied leather strap is soft, supple and wears great on my 7-½ inch wrist. With a replica watch of this price, and all the other features it has, I was sure the strap was going to be cheap, rough leather. I was surprised to say the least with this Italian leather with red stitching. While most replica watches without a fixed or rotating bezel seem to wear larger than their stated specs, I feel the Blade with the seconds disk covering most the dial, gives the dial a smaller appearance. So this wears like a true 44mm, if not feels like it is a little smaller.

Zinvo Blade Watch Review

As I think you can tell, this replica watch is not exactly for me. But that does not mean I do not like it, or that it is not a fun replica watch. I think more than anything, it would not be my everyday replica watch, but maybe something fun to wear every now and then, maybe for a summer party with friends, or when I am going somewhere boring where staring at the replica watch might keep me amused for awhile. :-). In all seriousness, it is a little gimmicky, but the specs are good, especially having a sapphire crystal and Miyota automatic, a racing inspired case and a very good quality leather strap for the price of $199.

I would love to see this same case and strap on a future model, but with more of a regular dial (sans disk), and possibly a 9015 movement. You can see more of Zinvo and their entire lineup HERE. Thank you to Zinvo for providing the Blade for review. Please leave your comments or questions below.
