A festive Chronofighter Vintage Nose Art

Following the four Chronofighter Vintage Nose Art models featuring the pin-ups Lilly, Sally, Nina and Anna, Graham has just unveiled a festive version of the timepiece sporting a Merry pin-up. Meticulously hand-painted on the blue sunbrushed dial, Merry ignites festive spirit with 1940s nostalgia and top-of-the-tree horological craftsmanship.

You will find four new models in the collection and each one is limited to 250 pieces. Let us go through the basics first and then discuss the differences between the four models. First up, these brand new Chronofighter Vintage Aircraft Ltd. watches possess Graham’s distinctive case design with the start/stop cause for the chronograph function. Case size is 44mm, but because of the big start/stop activate and onion crown in addition to the muscular look of the lugs, these watches will probably wear a lot larger. One facet of this Graham Chronofighter Vintage Aircraft Ltd. watches that makes them stick out from other vintage-inspired watches is their instance. Apart from getting Graham’s signature layout, they are made from aged steel with a grey PVD. From the press photos, it looks like this exceptional blend has given them a classic, used, and worn in look.To finish the vintage looks, the four Graham Chronofighter Vintage Aircraft Ltd. watches will even have riveted dials which are meant to mimic the appearance of old aircraft in the ’30s and ’40s. All models will come with fitting canvas and denim straps. The ref. 2CVAV. It also has beige Super-LumiNova hands and hour markers. But most importantly, this reference has a good caseback stamped with the British Royal Air Force’s Halifax aircraft. 2CVAV. B19A is potentially the most modern-looking of this group. It has a black radial end dial, but in place of beige Super-LumiNova, it’s white Super-LumiNova hands and markers. Together with the red hands for the chronograph’s 30-minute enroll, this gives this specific reference a more contemporary vibe. The closing two versions are the ref. 2CVAV. 2CVAV. U03A. The former features a black radial end dial, while the latter includes a funky deep azure radial end dial. Both versions have beige Super-LumiNova hour and minute hands, and hour markers. The chronograph 30-minute registers have red palms for improved legibility. The ref. 2CVAV. U03A is very nice since it includes a blue denim strap that I think nicely complements the dial. All four watches are powered by the caliber G1747, which relies on the Valjoux 7750. It defeats at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of about 48 hours (two days). It features a day-date complication, which can be displayed at 9 o’clock on the dial. The chronograph disadvantage is worked using the specially made trigger-style pusher that is also at 9 o’clock on the case. The pusher at 10 o’clock resets the chronograph.

The 44mm steel case of this limited edition Chronofighter Vintage Nose Art festive special houses an automatic chronograph G1747 movement, offering a 48-hour power reserve, and visible through a see-through case back. A day-date window at nine o’clock is ready to handle any sort of calendar countdown. And why exclude watches from dressing up to the nines? Each piece comes with a hand-sewn blue calf-leather strap, along with a red canvas alternative that will harmonise perfectly with any Santa outfit.
