Design experts Ferdinand Alexander Porsche has successfully created the first compass watch in 1978, this P’6520 compass watch has adopted the blueprint from it and has modified and re-issued. In order to keep up with the aesthetic demands of the 21st century, the designer has increased the watch case diameter to 42 mm and created with titanium. This watch is produced in a limited edition of only 911 pieces.
The P’6520 Compass Watch comes in two parts: the upper part is a three-hand dial driven by an automatic SW300 Sellita movement. Just opened the upper part of the watch, you will see a liquid compass in the lower part of the watch; it can be used for both the Northern and the Southern hemisphere.
To meet the navigation requirements, a scratch-resistant mirror has been installed on the rear of the watch part and on top of the compass, which clicks into a 45 degree once opened.
The case and strap both are adopted with black PVD coated titanium, which is a non-magnetic material, an ideal material to use for a compass watch. Incidentally, the Chronograph 1 watch that manufactured in 1972 is the first black watch in the world.
